CHICAGO (CBS) — Mel Reynolds, the former congressman disgraced by scandal in the 1990s, was found guilty Thursday of four misdemeanor tax counts.
Reynolds defended himself against charges he failed to file tax returns between 2009 and 2012 as he collected a combined $433,000.
He could face up to four years in prison.
In the 1990s, Reynolds was convicted of sexual assualt after he had a relationship with a teenager who had worked on his congressional campaign.
