CHICAGO (CBS) — A Park Forest man was arrested Tuesday for breaking into a commuter’s vehicle at the Calumet Metra Station in south suburban East Hazel Crest.

Elijah J. Muhammad, 21, was going through a trunk of a commuter’s vehicle in the station parking lot near Wood and 174th Street in East Hazel Crest when Metra police spotted him, according to the transit agency.
Muhammad, of the 400 block of Winnemac Street in Park Forest, was arrested and charged with burglary to a motor vehicle, Metra said.
Metra police have increased patrols around several south suburban stations and on the city’s South Side following vehicle break-ins last week and criminal activity earlier this year.
