CHICAGO (CBS) — The body of a female was found Saturday afternoon along the shoreline of Nippersink Lake and a dog was recovered from the water nearby in northwest suburban Fox Lake.
Officers were called about 2:45 p.m. to the scene of a dead dog in the water of Nippersink Lake near the 200 block of Leisure Drive, according to a statement from Fox Lake police.
An officer checking the lake’s shoreline found the unresponsive female, police said. Her name has not been released pending notification of her family.
Police said the incident was isolated and there is no threat to the community. Additional information was not immediately available as the investigation continues.
