CHICAGO (CBS) — Joliet Central High School was placed on hard locktown Wednesday morning, after authorities received a report of someone entering the school with a gun.
The school said they have not confirmed the report, but has notified parents no one is being allowed in or out of the school as of 9 a.m.
School officials said Joliet police were on the scene, and students who were not in school when the lockdown started were being held on buses outside until the all-clear is given.
“Please do not come to the school or contact your student as this will impede our progress of the investigation. We will keep you informed as we receive information,” Joliet Township High School District 204 told parents in an alert.
