Motorist Found Shot To Death Where Woman, Boy Are Injured In Crash

(STMW) — One person was killed and two others, including a young child, were injured in a crash that may have been caused by a shooting Thursday afternoon in the South Side Englewood neighborhood.

Chicago Police said the incident happened about 4 p.m. at 71st and Morgan. Police and firefighters were originally called about a car accident.

A 31-year-old man was found dead in one of the cars, according to police. He apparently suffered a fatal gunshot wound.

Firefighters found a woman and a boy injured in that same vehicle, but said it did not appear they had been shot. The boy was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital and the woman to Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, according to the Fire Media Affairs. Both their conditions were stabilized.

It was not clear whether the shooting caused the crash or happened after the crash.
