(CBS) – A man who reportedly was acting suspiciously at a North Riverside store was shot by police during a scuffle Tuesday afternoon, witnesses say.
Police tape surrounded the Burlington coat store, in the 2200 block of Harlem Avenue, where the incident occurred.
But law enforcement sources tell CBS 2 the episode started at the Jewel grocery store in the same strip mall.
The grocery store manager reportedly saw a man acting suspiciously and called police.
The man walked to the Burlington store and was confronted by police. During a scuffle with police he was shot, a witness says.
Police were expected to hold a news conference around 5 p.m.
