CHICAGO (CBS) — An off-duty Robbins police officer shot and killed a man in the West Pullman neighborhood after an apparent robbery attempt early Friday.
Chicago police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said the Robbins officer was involved in a “possible attempted armed robbery” at 123rd and Wallace shortly before 7 a.m.
The officer shot the suspect, who was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Further details were not immediately available Friday morning.
