Ground Stop Imposed At O’Hare As Storms Approach From West

(CBS) — A ground stop was imposed Tuesday evening on departing airplanes at O’Hare International Airport, as severe weather systems moved into the Chicago area from the west, the FAA reported.

O’Hare Airport had cancelled 114 flights and is averaging delays of 27 minutes, according to the Chicago Department of Aviation. Midway Airport has cancelled 27 flights and flight delays of about 15 minutes as of 5:17 p.m., the Sun-Times Media Wire reported.
